In any case, this book is still a "revolution" compared to the Western ways of skincare, so read if you haven't heard of the wonders of facial sheet masks I hear these are now sold at Target. Her skin-care techniques are ones she's been using herself for decades either on her own skin or in her salons. She focuses on giving your epidermis and dermis moisture and attention without using expensive products, and the massages feel lovely and help drain lymph nodes of toxins.

I've only tried a few techniques and can already feel my skin saying 'thank you'! May 21, Cindy Tai rated it really liked it. It's book though little pricey, has a few of the useful tutorials. The main idea revolving about this book is perhaps only the lotion mask method. The massages and other concepts were nothing new and not exactly a "Japanese skincare routine".

However the lotion mask was indeed very useful, I invested a lot into cotton pads after reading this book and noted the improvement in my skin.

The Japanese Skincare Revolution is the first guide for women of all ages and races who want to have beautiful skin like the Japanese, and don't want to spend lots of money on cosmeti The Japanese Skincare Revolution: Review This book provides basic techniques and good habits to practice daily for taking care of one's skin, using one's own hands and intent to achieve positive results, no matter what products are used.

She does not have a line of beauty creams to sell -- any will work well, along with her instructions If you want more information on skin treatments, using your hands to heal your face, "skin fasting," and treatments for specific types of acne, her take on the skin is refreshing and positive, and she provides a wide variety of specific solutions that are really easy and effective.

I love her writing style and her outlook, and whether you have an issue with breakouts, sagging, oily skin, dry skin, you name it, she has a solution for it.

Overall, the book is very helpful, gives great descriptions, has great pictures and diagrams and is well-written. I have personally felt that the techniques work very well. The only issue I have with it is that many of the techniques are time-consuming.

But like I said, the facial massage alone worked enormously well for me and takes only a few minutes per day. I know the massages so well I barely have to think about them I very highly recommend this book. It's one of THE best books I've read on skincare. It's probably not a must-have as you can google all the important information, but for the price of this little paperback and the hour you spend reading it, you do get some wisdom and inspiration that will make you feel a little more beautiful and confident in what you do.

That must be worth something. Jul 31, Ellina rated it really liked it.

I became inspired to read this book after travelling through Japan, where I was struck by the fact that I rarely saw a spot or wrinkle on the faces of the people I cam across.

This book had been very highly rated, so I went ahead and got it. However, I was very disappointed. Firstly, the book's title seems very misleading; the book doesn't actually talk about Japanese skincare, in fact, Saeki often explains how she has seen Japanese women 'getting it wrong', furthermore, the products she suggest I became inspired to read this book after travelling through Japan, where I was struck by the fact that I rarely saw a spot or wrinkle on the faces of the people I cam across.

Firstly, the book's title seems very misleading; the book doesn't actually talk about Japanese skincare, in fact, Saeki often explains how she has seen Japanese women 'getting it wrong', furthermore, the products she suggests using are largely from Western brands like Clinique and Estee Lauder. Secondly, the book promotes skin care concepts which I personally disagree with: I admit, maybe I wasn't giving the book the best chance, and I may end up trying some of these strange methods and loving them.
